Washington Parish Busted Mugshot Records
Any of several agencies can make a bust in Washington Parish. A sheriff's deputy, Bogalusa Police, Franklinton Police, Varnado Police, a State Trooper, or a probation officer might do it. The record then lands with the Sheriff's Office. WPSO owns the jail record once the person is processed at the parish jail. Each booking may carry a photo, a booking number and date, the arresting agency, charges listed at intake, bond details, and custody or release fields. Some fields fill in later than others.
The public side has two layers. The WPSO Live current roster gives a sortable list. An individual profile can hold the fuller booking entry plus an image. Not every profile has a photo. Not every field shows up at once. Blank space means nothing on its own. A missing release date does not show current custody, and a profile absent during maintenance does not mean the booking never happened.
Washington Parish Booking Record Fields
A roster line is only a summary. It is short by design. When the details matter, open the linked profile. That page can show the exact agency, image availability, and fuller charge and bond fields. Save the source URL. Note the time you checked, because operational data shifts. If a booking number and date already distinguish the record, skip the address, birth date, and demographic fields.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name and booking number | The jail identity label and WPJAIL record key. |
| Status and dates | Booking, release, or status information. |
| Arresting agency | The office credited with the arrest, which may differ from the jail. |
| Charges | Charges at intake, not the court disposition. |
| Bond and release note | Jail data that may change after court action. |
| Image | A photo may appear on the official profile when available. |
Three terms, three different steps. Booking is the jail intake process after an arrest. Bond is a court-set condition that may allow release while a case continues. A disposition is the court result, such as a dismissal, plea, acquittal, or conviction. Keep the three straight rather than blending them into one claim.

Is the live entry missing, incomplete, or too old? Contact the WPSO Records Division. Its published page lists report and fingerprint fees. There is no separate booking-photo price, no special image form, and no fixed response promise. Ask the custodian directly what format is available and what fee applies right now. An incident-report price may not cover a mugshot request.
- Collect the full name, booking number if known, booking date or narrow date range, and arresting agency.
- Ask for the “booking record and booking photograph, if public and available,” and state whether current or released custody is involved.
- Contact WPSO Criminal Records at 985-839-3434 or 1002 Main Street, Franklinton, LA 70438.
- Request the fee, delivery method, and custodian instructions before sending payment or personal documents.
- If material is withheld, ask for the legal basis and separable, non-exempt booking fields.
The official Criminal Records page shows the agency’s request route and published service information.

Treat that page as a starting point, not a promise that an image exists or can be sent by phone. Keep the request, the quote, the response, and the date together.
Note: WPSO’s Bogalusa office may route an inquiry, but the record custodian and actual booking facility control the response.
Louisiana Busted Mugshot Law
Louisiana public-record law grants a broad right to inspect and copy public records, within limits. R.S. 44:31 sets the general right. R.S. 44:32 covers copies and fees, R.S. 44:33 addresses access when a record is not ready, and R.S. 44:3 plus 44:4.1 preserve law-enforcement and other exceptions. A narrow request for one booking entry and its image beats a demand for every investigative file tied to an arrest.
Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure article 234 covers one specific removal practice for booking photos. It is not a blanket publication ban. After an acquittal, non-prosecution, expungement, vacation, or pardon, a covered publisher described by the law must remove and destroy the photo free of charge, within seven calendar days of proper proof.

The Legislature's current text controls. Send the exact page URL, booking details, and accepted court proof through the publisher's own free route. Then keep the confirmation.
Recently Booked, Mugshots.com, and Mugshots Zone each publish no-charge correction or removal routes. Busted Newspaper may show a request link on a record. Arrests.org offers contact info without a clear parish-specific policy. Check the current policy on the exact page before acting. Never pay an intermediary for a free process. Reject any promise of guaranteed deletion from a mirror site. If an old preview lingers after a source is fixed, use a search engine's stale-content refresh tool.
Washington Parish Juvenile Records Withheld
LA VINE tracks adult custody only. Louisiana Children's Code article 412 and related rules protect juvenile court information. An adult-oriented roster is never permission to republish a child's name or photograph. If age or jurisdiction is unclear, stop and verify with the agency and the court. Bogalusa City Court handles municipal adult misdemeanors and juvenile matters within its jurisdiction. The 22nd Judicial District Court covers broader parish criminal matters. The right court depends on the charge and jurisdiction, not just the city listed in an arrest line.
Expungement is a court process, not a quick website edit. Louisiana articles 971 and 972 describe which records are covered. Eligibility rules and waiting periods vary. An order can reach arrest records, photographs, fingerprints, and dispositions held by agencies and courts. The Washington Parish Clerk and the proper court supply the route for a specific case.
Washington Parish Arrest Counts Explained
The WPSO 2025–2026 annual report includes agency activity counts for DWI and drug arrests spanning 2023 through 2025. Those numbers describe the sheriff's reported work. They do not count every municipal, state, or federal arrest in Washington Parish, and they are not conviction totals. A city arrest may surface through a shared operation or follow a different booking route.
Use aggregate figures for context only. A single booking still needs its own WPSO profile, an LA VINE custody check, and a court disposition. The same caution applies to press releases about an operation. Those can describe conduct without showing current jail status or a final result.
Find Washington Parish Busted Mugshots
Skip the wide net. Go straight to the jail that holds the person. WPSO tracks who is booked into the parish jail now and links profile pages where images may sit. For verification, Washington LA VINE confirms custody with participating local agencies and lets you sign up for alerts on a release or transfer. Bogalusa runs its own municipal LA VINE path. State prison, federal, and ICE systems each cover different populations, so none of them stands in for the local roster.
- Open WPSO current, sort the list, and use the profile for booking number, agency, charges, bond, release fields, and any image.
- Check Washington LA VINE through the LCLE directory. If Bogalusa Police or city-jail custody is involved, also check Bogalusa LA VINE.
- Use the WPSO released-status view when the current list is empty, but treat it as a release filter, not a guaranteed 48-hour archive.
- If a transfer or sentence is supported, check DPS&C and state LA VINE. Use BOP or ICE only for their custody populations.
- Request the record from WPSO when web tools fail, then use the Clerk or proper court for disposition.
Can two official systems briefly disagree? They can. LCLE says local LA VINE rosters refresh every 30 minutes. WPSO posts no fixed interval at all. Write down both timestamps, then call WPSO if the gap matters to you.
Washington Parish Busted Photo Sources
Official sources come first. Third-party and news pages can surface a date or an old copy of a photo. Neither proves anyone is still in custody. This site is not a gallery, and no booking photo gets rehosted here.
| Channel | Photo? | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| WPSO Live | May appear on profile | Current parish booking details |
| LA VINE directory | No roster photo field | Custody check and alerts |
| WPSO Records | Ask if available | Missing or older record |
| Clerk and 22nd JDC | No | Court date and disposition |
| Local news | Varies | Dated context, then official verification |
| Third-party local pages | Often, unofficial | Historical lead or correction target |
A few secondary feeds exist. Mt. Hermon Web TV posts booking lists covering one day, two days, or longer stretches. The Bogalusa Daily News runs dated jail reports. The Era-Leader offers weekly crime coverage. Aggregators such as Busted Newspaper, Recently Booked, Mugshots.com, Arrests.org, and Mugshots Zone all carry Washington Parish sections. Treat each one as a backup at best. Entries can lag, go missing, or outlive a release. Before you settle anything, go back to WPSO, LA VINE, and the court record.
Washington Parish Busted Roster Search
The WPSO Live roster sorts three ways. Choose last name A–Z, first name A–Z, or booking date. A typical entry lists the name, status, booking number, dates, charges, and bond. A profile link may add the arresting agency and an image. Nothing official promises that every intake posts at once. Each profile need not carry a mugshot. Released profiles stay online for no fixed time.
| Control | Use | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Last name | Scan alphabetically | Confirm with date or number |
| First name | Re-sort a common surname | Spelling can differ |
| Booking date | Bring recent intake forward | No posting delay is promised |
| Profile | View full fields and possible image | Fields may be blank or revised |
The WPSO Corrections page is the official doorway to inmate search and jail warnings.

Use that route if a saved roster link stops working. The page has shown maintenance notices and even a zero-result summary while entries existed, so retry it and check LA VINE before trusting an empty screen.
Note: WPSO calls its release link “48 Hour Release,” but the observed filter was not reliably confined to two days.
Recent Washington Parish Busted Bookings
For a same-day answer, start with WPSO current. Follow with Washington LA VINE. LCLE reports local LA VINE data updating every 30 minutes. WPSO names no exact interval between intake and posting. One system can list a person before the other does. A Bogalusa Police arrest deserves both the municipal LA VINE check and the parish route, since a city hold and a transfer into Washington Parish Jail are two distinct custody events.
For multi-day searches, the official option is the WPSO released view. It comes with no retention promise. Mt. Hermon Web TV is the most reliable recurring secondary feed, with short posts spanning a day or two. One longer report there warned that a WPSO system change and missing release data left its list incomplete. Franklinton and Varnado have no documented public booking feeds. Fall back on WPSO, LA VINE, and the arresting department rather than assuming nothing happened.
What if the roster is down? Note the time you checked. Try the LCLE directory, call WPSO Records, and revisit the roster later. News posts and aggregators can hint at a date, never final custody.
Washington Parish Arrest Alerts
WPSO has no dedicated public booking app. It points instead to its live web roster and its official Facebook page. LA VINE serves as the real custody-notification channel. Register online or dial 866-LAVNS-4-U for release and transfer notices. Social posts help with agency announcements and outages. They hold nothing like a stable booking archive.
An alert marks a custody event, not a court result. Save the exact status and timestamp. When a notice says release, confirm with the facility, since the change might be a transfer instead.
Washington Parish Booking Status Paths
One arrest can cross several systems. Knowing the stage keeps you from a false not-found. B.B. Rayburn Correctional Center in Angie is a state prison, not a parish booking roster. The state locator becomes useful only after state intake, while a fresh local arrest stays a WPSO or municipal question.
| Stage | Source | Expectation |
|---|---|---|
| New local booking | WPSO and Washington LA VINE | Local fields; profile may show image |
| Bogalusa hold | Bogalusa LA VINE and Police | Also test WPSO after transfer |
| Released locally | WPSO released view and Records | No set profile duration |
| State custody | DPS&C and state LA VINE | Facility data, no general photo feed |
| Federal or ICE | BOP or ICE locator | Locator fields, no parish archive |
The DPS&C inmate-information page explains the state search path.

The state system updates on its own schedule, separate from local LA VINE. A blank result there does not erase a recent Washington Parish booking.
Washington Parish Arrests Reach Court
An arrest brings booking, then bond when it is allowed. At arraignment the court takes up the charges and a plea. From there the case record carries things forward. WPSO cautions that charge, bail, case-number, and court details can all change, so a booking page is never the whole story.
The Washington Parish Clerk of Court handles criminal records and expungement. Calendars come through the 22nd JDC online service. Bogalusa City Court handles municipal adult misdemeanors and juvenile matters within its authority. Match the name, booking date, agency, number, and case number before tying any outcome back to an intake.
Old Washington Parish Busted Records
WPSO keeps no set schedule for how long an inmate profile stays viewable, and it has never published a full booking archive. A state law, Louisiana R.S. 44:36, sets a floor of three years for record retention unless some other statute or approved schedule overrides it. That floor is not a promise, though. Photos can vanish before the window closes. When you contact Records, ask which schedule governs WPSO files and what happens to the non-image data once a mugshot comes down.
Other offices fill different roles. The Secretary of State Archives explains how agency retention schedules work, but no confirmed collection of Washington Parish booking photos turned up there. LA VINE, DPS&C, BOP, and ICE are live locators, not photo warehouses. The Clerk of Court is the one office that can hold a disposition or expungement order long after the jail profile disappears. Old Era-Leader issues and dated news stories add color. They just cannot stand in for the booking file itself.
Washington Parish Busted Mugshots by City
The 2020 Census ranking puts three incorporated places on the list. Those are Bogalusa, Franklinton, and Varnado. Each has its own police source. A local arrest can still land someone in the parish jail, though. When a person gets busted here, check both layers for the booking record.
- Bogalusa Busted Mugshots: check Police and municipal LA VINE, then WPSO after transfer.
- Franklinton Busted Mugshots: no police roster was found, so use the department with WPSO and LA VINE.
- Varnado Busted Mugshots: no village feed was found; use Police for the arrest record and WPSO for custody.
Two fields do most of the work. The arresting-agency field tells you who made the arrest. Facility and status fields tell you where the person was booked or held. Keep both handy when you trace a Washington Parish bust.
